Links policy
I know it seems a little crazy for a small blog like mine to have a links policy, but I continue to be amazed by the number of people who have no concept of copyright – particularly given that internet copyright is such a hot topic in the news right now.
Links are good. Links make the world wide web go round by allowing people to discover new information on the internet. Please feel free to create a link to my website providing, of course, you are linking from a reputable, law-abiding website.
However, providing a link back to me does not give you the freedom to copy entire articles. The words that I write here are mine, unless explicitly stated otherwise, and are protected by copyright.
If you are a news aggregation website or similar wanting to use an article of mine, then please copy only the first paragraph, and provide a link back to me so that readers can get the rest of the article. It is also acceptable to copy the odd sentence or excerpt for the purposes of reporting, provided that the source of the article is acknowledged.
I trust this makes sense!
